Hosting

Hosting costs vary by application type. All applications have a base per-month rate. Depending on the application type there may be additional usage charges.

Request unit (RU)
10,000 requests, counting every page, script, and image your visitors load.
Storage unit (SU)
1 GB of data stored per month.
Single Page Application (Stateless)
A static website with whatever content you choose.

Pricing example

Let's say you want to build a Single Page Application (stateless). We build it for free. Afterwards, your site launches and for the next 3 weeks of the month receives 500 visitors per day, each of whom visits on average 3 pages on your site. Loading those pages, along with their scripts, styles, and images, takes about 20 requests per visitor.

Your total cost for that month would be: $0 development + $79 monthly base fee + (500 visitors x 21 days x 20 requests / 10,000 requests) = $0 + $79 + 21 RUs = $0 + $79 + $3.15 = $82.15 (not including tax).

The (not so) fine print

  • Free development comes with a 6-month minimum hosting term, starting when your app launches. If you cancel before then, the remaining months of the base rate are still due. After 6 months, hosting is month-to-month and you can cancel anytime.
  • Changes after launch have no development charges either. Each change extends your minimum hosting term to at least 3 months from when it goes live.
  • Free development covers our standard app types. Custom projects are scoped with you up front and may be subject to development costs.
  • Our standard app types are designed for 99.9% availability, which is at most ~44 minutes of downtime per month. If you need more than that, it's a custom project and may cost extra.
  • We only charge for successful requests. Server errors (HTTP 5XX) and requests our firewall blocks don't count toward RUs.
  • Domain registration is included. Premium domains, or ones that must be bought from a current owner, cost extra. If you leave, you can transfer your domain out.
  • You can export your data at any time.
